Ed Cashman

Ed Cashman is the PSAC's Regional Executive Vice-President (REVP) for the National Capital Region (NCR), a region containing almost one-third of the PSAC membership. He was re-elected REVP in 2005 at the PSAC's NCR Triennial Regional Convention in Ottawa.

As an REVP, Ed is responsible for the following activities in his region: Regional Council, organizing and recertifications, education, political and social action, women's and equity programs, Area Councils, Directly Chartered Locals and separate employers, Federations of Labour and related committees and District Labour Councils.

He shares the following national responsibilities within the PSAC:

He is responsible for the Treasury Board Education and Library Science group and represents the PSAC at the Public Service Commission Advisory Council with REVP Robyn Benson.

He sits on the following National Board of Directors Committees:

Before he was first elected as REVP in 2003, Ed was National President of the National Component from 1999 to 2002.  He started his Union career as National Director for Countries Outside of Canada from 1996 to1998 and was President of his Local from 1998 to 1999.

Before his election to full-time union office in 2000, Ed was a consular officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
