The Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation
Approximately 400 members work for the Museum of Civilization in Gatineau, which includes the Canadian Postal Museum, the Children’s Museum and the Canadian War Museum. These members work in areas such as education and outreach programming, interpretation services, artifact maintenance and restoration, property management and client and security services. The unit falls under the Canada Labour Code.

Canadian Museum of Civilization workers ratify their new agreement
OTTAWA – Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) members working at the Canadian Museum of Civilization ratified today the tentative agreement reached on June 24 by their union and their employer.
The new collective agreement includes wage increases of 2.5%, 2.25%, 2.4% and 2.5% for each of the four years of the agreement. The employees will also be entitled to improved vacation leave provisions and improvements to the maternity and parental leave articles. Part-time employees will receive financial compensation for their fringe benefits.
The new agreement is retroactive to April 1, 2005.
The PSAC represents 400 workers at the Canadian Museum of Civilization, which includes the Canadian Children's Museum, the Postal Museum and the new War Museum. PSAC members are responsible for setting up exhibitions, greeting visitors, handling security, administration and the maintenance of collections belonging to the Canadian people.
