Compensation and benefits advisors talk problems, solutions at roundtable

PSAC National President Nycole Turmel convened a roundtable on issues affecting members classified as AS (Admistrative Services), particularly those working as compensation and benefits advisors in the federal public sector.

About a dozen PSAC members coming from across the country met for two days to discuss concerns about their classification, pay, working conditions and issues of recruitment and retention. Compensation and benefits advisors in the federal public sector are currently classified as AS-2. The participants also took the opportunity to discuss solutions and strategies, including collective action at the local and national levels.

The roundtable took place in Ottawa on April 19 and 20. A more detailed report on the gathering will be available at the end of May 2006.
