Members of Parliament still need to be convinced to pass the anti-scab Bill

The House of Commons Standing Committee on Human Resources, Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities has now completed its review of Bill C-257 and presented its report in the House on February 21.  The Report includes a number of amendments adopted by the Committee.  Unfortunately, some MPs still need convincing that this is important protection for federal workers.

The House of Commons is taking a ‘spring break’ and will not be in session from March 5 to 16 inclusive.  This is an ideal opportunity to call your MP when she/he is back in your riding.  Let them know that protection for workers who must take strike action is an important issue for you and that you are looking for their support.  The final vote in the House of Commons will take place soon after the MPs return from their break.

After you make your call, don’t forget to use the Fax Your MP service link on this web page to reinforce your message.

Keep checking the PSAC and Canadian Labour Congress web sites for updates on this important piece of legislation.
