PSAC LEGAL ACTION RE: FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION
WHEREAS the PSAC will stand in solidarity to defend the right of all workers to associate freely and to engage in collective bargaining with the union of their choosing; and
WHEREAS the Supreme Court of Canada has recognized that the Constitution of Canada protects workers' right to associate and to engage in free collective bargaining; and
WHEREAS there are vulnerable workers in Canada that continue to be denied these rights; and
WHEREAS the PSAC will denounce all legislation and government action that seeks to limit these rights:
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the PSAC take action to defend the right of workers in Canada to exercise their Constitutional right to freedom of association and to engage in free collective bargaining.
